Ascension at Yellowstone Airport is located two miles north of the town of West Yellowstone, MT making it the closest, full-service airport to all the major attractions in Yellowstone National Park, including Old Faithful (30 miles), Canyon (45 miles), and Lake Hotel (65 miles). We are also a short 45 mile drive south of the luxury resorts at Big Sky, MT.
The airport is at an elevation of 6,644 feet and has an 8,400 foot long runway. The instrument approaches include ILS, NDB and GPS. The airport has accommodated everything from small Cessna's' to Boeing 747s'. This airport is currently seasonal, typically operating May through October.
